Reverie of a Morning Person

I've finally begun to fall into a functional work routine. Although all of you "I'm not a morning person." people out there aren't going to understand a word I say for the next few paragraphs. (Includes mention of two new soup recipes.)

I've finally begun to fall into a functional work routine. Although all of you "I'm not a morning person." people out there aren't going to understand a word I say for the next few paragraphs.

Thanks to Daylight Saving Time and the lower angle of the sun in our sky, if I leave my shades open the sunlight falls into my room, waking me up naturally around 7am. I've also got my Mac program to turn itself on at 7 (That's such a freaky and cool new feature! How do they do it?) and the coffee maker in the kitchen starts brewing my (imported from Hawaii) coffee at the same time.

You can almost hear the light classical music as I open my eyes, greet the new day, pad off to the kitchen, pour my coffee (cream and sugar) sit down at the computer, and get the news reading/email checking/blog writing part of the day out of the way. (As proof of being a complete freak, I should try to automate the classical music too.) Then it's off to continuing work on the master's paper until about noon, going to the gym for an hour (otherwise my wrist/arm/elbow/shoulder start to KILL me from the repetitive motion injuries) return home, eat, work some more, etc.

I'm feeling pretty content.

Yesterday I had to take a break from the typing (hand is killing me these days) so I prepared some food for the week. I made two different soups:

1. A Peanut Butter Soup that Bob made for me when he visited.
2. My favorite Butternut Squash & Apple Bisque that I always make when the first Autumn chill hits.

I've also added these recipes to the cooking section of my web site. If you like peanut butter at all, then by all means give that soup a try. I know it sounds weird but it's surprisingly good.
