Open Synchronization Project

This is the version 0.1 draft of my OSP web pages. The purpose is to get something "on paper" ASAP, so excuse the rough appearance.

What Is It?

In a nutshell, the OSP is an attempt to create a generalized platform- and language-agnostic framework that does what Apple's iSync does: to allow all your contacts, calendar items, web bookmarks, etc. to stay in sync. The core of this system will be the SyncML framework that was designed by IBM and a lot of other industry heavy-hitters.

Who's Involved?

Right now, it's just me and William Levin, who created the OpenContact.org web site in order to create a forum of people to tackle this issue. OpenContact was kind of "inactive" for a while and we're just now trying to blow the dust off everything and get things going again.

Documentation

Here is a brief summary of the existing sections:

  1. Preamble
  2. Architecture
  3. Road Map

There are many more sections needed rather quickly, especially "links" and "forums".
